Position – Contracts Manager
Location – Kathmandu, Nepal

Descriptions of responsibilities
• The position will be based in Kathmandu, Nepal with frequent travel to project sites within Nepal especially during construction phase.
• Planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling of the whole/overall projects.
• Preparation of planning schedule of work through MS-Project/other software including designing Work Breakdown Structure for all the items, allocating the resources like manpower and material over all the works, and Gantt chart for the Project
• Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring the work is completed to the agreed timeframe and within budgets.
• Responsible for streamlining the creation, execution, compliance, storage, and renewals of contracts across all departments within the organization.
• Serve as a single point of contract during contract negotiation, to solve contract disputes, contract renewals, cancellations, and amendments with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Handle contract administration related to Interim payment certificate, running bills, claims, negotiation, preparation and finalization of variation orders, cost, controlling and scheduling of the projects including engineering, procurement, and construction of projects.
• Work closely with and support project team with field supervision, monitoring, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations of Nepal, such as Contract Act 2056, Environmental Act, etc. and applicable international standards.
• Prepare project monitoring reports, and track outcomes.
Experience and Qualifications
• BE (Mechanical Electrical) or master’s degree in construction management. Over 6 years’ relevant work experience, exposure to contract management in Hydropower or Solar projects would be an added advantage.
• Expert knowledge of Nepal and International Procurement Laws, Regulations, and International Practices.
• Have a strong understanding of all key project processes, including construction and engineering, procurement, project controls reporting and contract management.
• Have adequate knowledge and experience in management of FIDIC based Contracts.
• Should be familiar with applicable Nepalese Laws related to Solar and Hydropower Projects.
• Results-oriented, team player, articulate analyst with attention to details, persuasive communicator, and good report writer.
• Good knowledge and experience with IFC Performance Standards and understanding of Development Finance Institutions activities.
• Ability to travel frequently within and outside Nepal.
• Ability to communicate and write effectively in English and Nepali, with preference for capabilities in both languages.

Position – ESG Officer
Location – Kathmandu, Nepal

• The position will be based in Kathmandu, Nepal with frequent travel to project sites within Nepal.
• Work with and support Project team with field supervision, monitoring, and reporting.
• Implement robust Environmental and Social Management Systems, repository of data and meeting the required environmental and social action plans.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations of Nepal, such as Labour Act, Environmental Act, etc. and applicable international standards.
• Continuous monitoring of environmental, health, and safety standards of projects; their risk identification, mitigation, and timely reporting.
• Prepare monitoring reports following site visits, and track outcomes.
• Track all E&S activity and report any major E&S issues for resolution.
Experience and Qualifications
• Master’s degree in environmental science or related field with 5 years’ experience in Environment Management, preferably in hydropower projects or high-risk construction projects. Additional experience Occupational Health & Safety and social development preferred.
• Expert knowledge of Nepal and International Environmental Laws, Regulations, and International Practices.
• Deep understanding of occupational health risks and safety.
• Results-oriented, team player, articulate analyst with attention to details, persuasive communicator, and good report writer.
• Interest in development subjects and developing countries. Good understanding of sustainable development & impact investing.
• Good knowledge and experience with IFC Performance Standards and understanding of Development Finance Institutions activities.
• Ability to travel frequently within Nepal.
• Ability to communicate and write effectively in English and Nepali, with preference for capabilities in both languages.
